They are also an economical, simple means but is quite effective. To design a postcard you need to consider on different things.
While designing a postcard first thing that comes in your mind is the size of the postcard. The size of your postcard should be according to the postal guidelines, according to which the size of your postcard should be in-between five and six inches in length and 3.5 to 4.25 inches in height. If your card gets greater than this you will be charged for full postage. A postcard should have a well decorated front part for the text and a glossy, attractive and effective back. You can use your own different ideas for making it an effective piece.
For designing it in bleed you need to follow some simple steps. First step would be to measure and add 0.125 to each side on both of the front and backside of the postcard. The remaining 1/8 part will be snipped off by the one who prints it. You should consider the fact that anything on that 1/8 part will be snipped off. So, you should not add any text or any other important element nearer or into that. Next would be choosing a correct photo for your back of the postcard. The front part of it can be divided into two parts one half for your message and the other remaining part for address. Make a box on the address writing part, which is on the lower part of the right side and outline it beautifully.
You need to place a small, square outline on the top right corner of the postcard. This is the point where you need to place your post stamp after making the postcard. A small box of size 0.75 by 0.5 inches would be better. You can remove the outline if you have decided to print the stamp directly into each postcard by the use of automated machine. to write a message you can occupy the message area which is on the left hand side of the postcard. You have the option to leave it blank if you don’t have any message but in the case you have any message you can use the space. Your message should be short because of enclosed area. Use the attractive words and phrases to make your postcard more effective one. Finally, revise the postcard for the last time and see for any incorrectness or mistakes and if you found any of them then don’t hesitate to correct it.
